10 Common Misconceptions About MagnaWave and PEMF

Understandably, sometimes there are misconceptions about MagnaWave’s machines and their usage. Not everyone is familiar with PEMF, and misinformation can be accidentally spread. It is important that others are aware of how MagnaWave products work and how they can be beneficial for your animals. Read on to debunk 10 of the most common misconceptions about MagnaWave!

Myth #1: MagnaWave machines are the same as a TENS unit

TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. A TENS is a smaller, hand-held device that anyone can utilize for personal use. These devices use electricity to target and eliminate pain. MagnaWave machines emit a Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) which travels much deeper into the body, reaching muscles, tendons, and even bone! PEMF aids the body in flushing out toxins and increases oxygenation on a cellular level, which in turn reduces pain. TENS and MagnaWave are two separate modalities and use different methods to relieve pain in the body.

Myth #2: Muscles have to move to know the PEMF is working

Stronger settings are not always necessary to experience benefits. Too much intensity can sometimes cause discomfort and soreness. We always recommend starting at a low setting to scan the animal’s body and determine where there is sensitivity. Muscle movement, even on the lowest level, is a normal response and can indicate an area that needs more work. It is important to pay attention to the animal’s body language to assess their comfort level.

Myth #3: Lower settings will not have as much of an effect on the animal

No matter what setting you are using, PEMF is beneficial to the body. The pulse penetrates up to 16 inches within the body, reaching a cellular level. MagnaWave machines provide results regardless of the intensity. Every animal is different and tolerates different intensities, so it is best to always start at a lower setting and increase as needed.

Myth #4: Higher power PEMF machines cause damage

The high power of MagnaWave machines ensures efficiency. It does not harm structures within the body. Many products, such as PEMF blankets and boots, or disposable PEMF devices, are low powered and cannot deliver the same level of benefits. Since they are not as powerful, it would take much longer to achieve the same results as a few short MagnaWave sessions.

Myth #5: There are no studies on PEMF and its benefits

Research has been conducted on humans and animals since the 1940s. PEMF has been shown to have a positive effect for many issues and conditions. More scientific studies are developing over time to further knowledge of PEMF. Certified practitioners can view and download an array of research articles in the Practitioner Portal.

Myth #6: Animals cannot exercise right after their MagnaWave session

Animals can continue with their normal exercise routine immediately following a MagnaWave session. Every animal is unique and responds to PEMF differently, so if it is their first session, we recommend monitoring the animal afterward to see how they feel. Some may feel energized, while others may feel lethargic. Both are completely normal reactions!

Myth #7: PEMFs are just as dangerous as EMFs

A common concern for people considering PEMF sessions is its association with man-made EMF in the environment and the negative effects of the “Electro-smog” they create. Typical daily exposure to EMF comes from electronics, microwaves, and more. EMFs that reach a high frequency can be harmful, like x-rays or ultraviolet rays. PEMFs have longer wavelengths, energize the cells, and help to re-balance and restore body functions and health. Daily use of PEMF can help combat the negative side effects of undesirable EMFs.

Myth #8: PEMF works just like static magnets

PEMF and static magnets work completely differently. A static magnet is placed directly on an animal, and it is thought that the natural magnetic field it releases can have therapeutic effects. MagnaWave machines have a unique electrical current that runs through a copper coil that creates a pulsing electromagnetic field. Using PEMF is said to stimulate cell metabolism, increase oxygenation, and reduce inflammation. Scientists have published thousands of studies, clinical trials, and research articles on the topic.

Myth #9: MRI machines are no different than a PEMF machine

The abbreviation MRI means “Magnetic Resonance Imaging”. It does emit a magnetic field, but many other factors set it apart from MagnaWave machines. This technology is made of strong magnets to create a unique picture of a patient’s body, found in hospitals and used by medical professionals. MagnaWave machines emit a pulsed electromagnetic field, which stimulates and enhances cellular function, reduces inflammation, and promote healing. It’s commonly used for pain relief, recovery, and improving overall wellness.

Myth #10: PEMF sessions cannot be used with any other modality

This is not true at all. In fact, MagnaWave machines are considered to be a complementary modality and we strongly encourage practitioners to add other modalities to their tool box, such as red light therapy, massage, acupuncture, and many others. When using MagnaWave, you are not limited on which additional modalities you can use!

Knowledge is Power

Addressing common misconceptions surrounding MagnaWave machines is vital for a better understanding of the true potential of PEMF. By addressing these concerns, we can truly appreciate the benefits MagnaWave machines offer. Accurate knowledge can lead to improved well-being and a more open-minded approach to alternative options for health and wellness.
